I was excited when Leisa & Cole contacted us because it was the first of many Maternity sessions I’ve photographed. Since it is conveniently located, we chose to shoot at Lalbagh. It often is a location that is looked down on, but if the photographer knows his/her trade, s/he will know how to create beautiful images anywhere. The shoot started at around 4 p.m. and we ended up shooting till nightfall. We prefer not to use any props in our maternity shoots because we feel it takes away the attention from emotions. We want to capture not just the way couple look, but the way they felt during this important period of their life. Leisa’s smile and excitement were more than enough to create these stunning images.
Leisa was 6-months pregnant at the time and since they already knew that they’re having a girl, they were ecstatic. Leisa had a beautiful pregnancy glow about her and I was so glad to be able to capture it. If you’re thinking about having a maternity shoot done, your 6th or 7th month into the pregnancy might be the best time to do it.
